How My Need To Lose Weight Fast Resulted In Finding My True

As a child I loved sugar. I had
sugary cereals, toast with caramel on it, freshly squeezed
artificial fruit punch. I don’t blame my mother. It was what
all mothers fed their kids. No one knew the possible side
effect of a nutrient deficient diet. As a matter of fact, I
think that many people still, to this day, do not
understand. All we want is that magic diet pill to satisfy
our need to lose weight fast.
We are motivated to lose weight, each time we decide to get
on the diet band wagon. But what happens, we fall off the
wagon and we get more and more discouraged each time. We
don’t even notice other “symptoms” of excess weight. We are
not taught what necessary nutrients our bodies need to
survive. We are given/taught the daily food guide, but not
much beyond that. And who follows that anyway? And because
we are a fast society we believe that to lose weight fast is
going to be a no brainer.
Let me paint you a picture. You get a brand new car. You
love the way it drives. It is so smooth you barely hear the
engine. Have any of you ever tried to restart a new car
because you didn’t think it was on? I did. I had my first
car close to 10 years. And to keep it in top shape I
serviced it regularly. I learned that I had to change the
oil, I needed to get the spark plugs changed, and I serviced
my breaks regularly for security. As the car got older, it
didn’t run as smooth as it used to and a bit of rust started
showing up on the exterior.
A friend of mine that had the same car, yet hers worked a
bit better, lasted a bit longer. The reason: her husband was
a car buff and knew a bit more (ok lots more) about cars
than I did. He was an amateur mechanic, not by trade but as
a passion.
You may wonder what this story has to do with weight loss?
Not much actually. However, what I want to illustrate to you
is that the more we know about the “mechanics” of something,
the longer that something will last. And the better it will
run. That also goes for our body.
Everyone knows that when you go for an oil change the
mechanic first drains the old oil. And how many times have
you seen ads for motor oil that tell you that using a
premium oil in your vehicle will extend the life of that
vehicle? Or the benefits of using premium versus regular
gasoline? Our bodies, including our brain, are the same.
Weight loss should not come in the form of a magic diet
pill, but rather as a side effect of proper maintenance and
premium fuel we give it.
Let’s go back to my childhood… Eating loads of sugar, empty
carbohydrates, and chemically enhanced or engineered protein
is not considered premium fuel. Actually, it’s empty food,
containing no nutrients. The food guide says a balanced diet
consists of 4 food groups. But your typical honey nut
cereals are not a source of grains. French fries are not
really a vegetable and milk with strawberry or chocolate
syrup will not help you grow healthy bones.
What eating these foods will do is prevent your body from
functioning at its best. And one day, we find ourselves
looking for that magic diet pill for easy weight loss.
In my case I was in my forties, with 3 kids, and feeling
“Forty, Fat and Frumpy”. What happened to me? Is this what
getting old feels like? Will I be a couch potato for the
rest of my life? I don’t think so….I want to live until am
over 80 and that is a long time of flipping channels looking
for something to motivate me. I wanted to lose weight fast
but did not have the energy to do anything about it. I had
cut out the junk food before; I had tried to eat well
balanced meals. Why was nothing working for me?
I remember the day my life changed. I met a lady who
introduced me to a program that would nourish my body and
remove the impurities. It wasn’t designed to lose weight
fast but to help the my body regain balance by feeding it
the rich nutrients it had been lacking and also remove all
the impurities, at a cellular level. To my surprise, I began
to lose weight fast.
Impurities come from many sources, not only the food we eat,
the water we drink, but think about the air we breathe, the
chemicals we use to soften this and color that and plump up
whatever. Sure we can limit the impurities, but we can’t
stop them all together. Somewhere, somehow we get exposed to
pollution and it affects the way we feel and look.
Life does not end at forty. Not only did I lose weight fast
and safe but I found myself again. I feel better physically
and emotionally. All pistons are firing! I am a smooth
running machine.
